Nice mountain to hike. Definitely worth .
Be very carefully coming down other then that.
Climb is nice and easy allow 2 to 3 hours of time of the day for it.
Steep, but quick hike with amazing views. Start early morning to avoid heat. Gloves recommended. Stay left on the trails at the beginning until the trail becomes obvious. After the ropes, don't get discouraged, keep going 2 more minutes for amazing views of the ocean and San Carlos. Be prepared to swear because it's a straight trail, practically climbing all the way to the top.
Worth. the. Effort! We climbed up in January and the weather was perfect. Not particularly well marked trail, especially near the parking area, so try not to return in the dark 😁 wear gloves for the rope near the top. …
Fun and challenging! I have wanted to climb it for years and finally did it. I would give it a 9 out of 10 for difficultly. Going up isn't as bad as coming down. A lot of loose rocks and gravel. Took it nice and slow and made it up in under an hour and about the same coming down. The trail off the main highway will take you up to the East peak. There are some great Vistas from there but you can't get to the very top without climbing gear. At least I wouldn't do it.
Tough hike, come prepared with good shoes, plenty of water and make sure you have the ability to rock scramble and rope climb if you want to get to the top. Amazing views and well worth the effort! Prepare for at least 2 hours and don't go in midday during summer.
A must if in the area. Park on the rear and hike the rear of the mountain
This is an EXTREME hike. Especially on the way down. Don’t bring kids. Its not a hike all the way up, you will have to basically rock climb
Imagine both hands and butt on the rock/ground for 75% of decent.
If you are afraid of heights re-think. People have to get rescued all the time. I am a fit person and wouldn’t recommend for elderly or children.
View is amazing but you should be prepared.
The trail from car park to the summit is well marked. A couple of off-shoots take you nowhere. Just keep walking uphill (took us an hour with rockclimbing gear). …
Outstanding views. A rigorous climb. Take water. Wear good walking shoes. Don't go alone. Rest on the way if you need to. It is not a race, it is an experience.
Awesome views! Clear trail all the way up! Be aware that there are two trails! One for each mountain (do not connect at any point). Bring sun protection and plenty water. It is slippery at times, but safe as long you are careful. The views are amazing in all directions!
